Arlington, Alexandria Police Link Bank Robbery Suspect

Bank of America and PNC Bank robberies in Alexandria linked to BB&T Bank robbery in Arlington

Alexandria and Arlington County detectives have determined that a suspect in two different bank robberies in Alexandria appears to be the same suspect in a separate bank robbery in Arlington.

The first robbery occurred in Arlington on Dec. 14, 2010.  The suspect entered the BB&T Bank, located at 2947 S. Glebe Rd. around 2:15 p.m. and demanded money.  The suspect fled the area with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The second robbery occurred in Alexandria on Dec. 20, 2010.  Around 2:45 p.m., the at 600 N. Washington St. and demanded money.  The suspect fled the area with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The third robbery occurred in Alexandria on Dec. 27, 2010.  At approximately 2:10 p.m., located at 1700 Diagonal Rd. and demanded money.  The suspect fled the area with an undisclosed amount of cash.  Nobody was injured in these robberies.  

The suspect is described as a black male, between 40-45 years old, six feet tall to six feet four, weighing approximately 200 pounds. He has worn a royal blue puffy winter coat, a dark colored hoodie, a scarf over his face, knit winter hat and dark pants.  Photos of the suspect were captured on video surveillance cameras during all three robberies.
