Crime Report for Old Town Alexandria

Crimes reported in the area from Feb. 22 through Mar. 7. A stolen car, stolen antique iron flower pots, a burglary and much more. Be safe!

The following information was given to www.crimereports.com by the Alexandria Police Department.

Mar. 7 - A vehicle was stolen in the 300 block of N. Henry at 6:08 p.m.

Mar. 5 - An unknown suspect took a swing at a jogger after words were exchanged at N. Washington and Wythe streets at 8:24 a.m.

Mar. 5 – A theft was reported from a vehicle in the 700 block of Prince St. at 8:53 p.m.

Mar. 5 – Assault offenses are pending in the 500 block of S. Columbus St. at 5:34 a.m. Similar charges were filed Feb. 23.

Mar. 4 – Breaking and entering was reported in the 900 block of Powhatan St. at 1:56 p.m. Burglars broke a window to enter a residence and stole jewelry, a flat-screen TV and a laptop computer. The case is pending.

Mar. 4 – A theft from a vehicle was reported in the 1000 block of N. Pitt St. at 6:36 a.m.

Mar. 4 – Assault with a deadly weapon was reported in the 200 block of N. Henry St.  at 11:37 p.m.

Mar. 3 – A purse containing 11 credit cards, a Social Security card and a driver’s license was stolen from the back room of a business located in the 1200 block of King St. at 2:23 p.m.

Mar. 3 - Unknown suspects stole four iron antique planters from the backyard of a residence in the 200 block of Cameron St. around 7:20 p.m.

Mar. 3 – A theft from a vehicle was reported in the 1900 block of Duke St. at 1:33 p.m.

Mar. 2 - A packaged delivered by UPS was stolen off of a back porch in the 400 block of Old Town Ct.

Mar. 1 – A thief entered a car parked in a residential driveway, ransacked the car and took an unendorsed check payable to the Girl Scouts in the 200 block of S. Fairfax St. at 7:43 a.m. The case is pending.

Mar. 1 – A thief removed a parking sticker from a vehicle parked in the 300 block of S. Lee St. at 11:44 a.m.

Mar. 1 – A robbery and assault were reported in the 100 block of Queen St. at 10 p.m. The assault occurred between two people who had a prior relationship.

Mar. 1 – Someone was charged with trespassing in the 400 block of S. Columbus St. around 1:05 p.m. after having been previously barred from entering the area.

Feb. 27 – A thief entered a victim’s vehicle while it was parked in a hotel parking lot and stole a GPS unit and its accoutrements around 10:39 p.m. in the 600 block of First St.

Feb. 27 – A traffic stop resulted in an arrest of a driver driving under the influence at Duke and John Carlyle streets around 5 a.m.

Feb. 27 – A thief stole a wallet from a purse that was hanging on a hook at a restaurant in the 900 block of King St. at 8:08 p.m.

Feb. 27 – An assault was reported in the 400 block of Carlyle St. at 12:43 a.m. between people who knew each other.

Feb. 27 – An assault with a deadly weapon occurred between two or more people who knew each other in the 500 block of S. Alfred St. at 4:43 a.m.

Feb. 26 – Fraud was reported at 2:06 p.m. in the 200 block of Swamp Fox Rd., but additional information is not available to protect the victim’s privacy.

Feb. 25 – Flower pots were damaged at a residence in the 1100 block of Duke St. at 12:58 p.m.

Feb. 24 – A theft from a vehicle was reported in the 200 block of N. Patrick St. at 3:44 p.m. The case is pending.  Assault with a deadly weapon and an assault were reported in this same block on Feb. 22.

Feb. 23 – A suspect was charged with possession of marijuana in the 900 block of Wolfe St. around 4:52 p.m.

Feb. 22 – A  man was walking down the 700 block of N. Washington St. when an unknown suspect struck him on the side of the face around 1:07 a.m.
