Police Make Arrests for DWI, Pot Possession

Arrests were made during roaming DWI enforcement effort.

Alexandria police arrested two drivers for driving while intoxicated in a roaming DWI effort from Dec. 29 to Dec. 30.

During the enforcement effort, 45 vehicles were stopped. Two arrests were made for possession of marijuana and one arrest was made for an open container of alcohol.

In addition, police issued 50 tickets for various traffic violations.

Six Alexandria police officers and one emergency communications technician participated in the mobile enforcement effort from 8 p.m. Saturday through 6 a.m. Sunday.
