Police Investigate Death of Woman, 43, in Alexandria
An autopsy Saturday morning ruled the death a homicide.
The Alexandria Police Department is investigating the death of a 43-year-old woman in Alexandria.
Police responded to the 5600 block of Derby Court on Friday at 11:32 a.m. for an unresponsive female, according to a news release from Alexandria Police.
An adult female was found deceased in her residence. The manner of death could not be determined at the scene. An autopsy on Saturday morning ruled the death a homicide.
The victim has been identified as Asabech Abayneh, 43, of Alexandria. The investigation is ongoing.
The Alexandria Police Department asks that anyone with information regarding Abayneh or her movements in the past several weeks contact Detective Loren King at (703) 746-6689.
This is the third homicide in Alexandria in 2014.
