Police: Man Attempted to Remove Female Customer's Underwear at Alexandria CVS Store

Police have charged the suspect with sexual battery.

The Alexandria Police Department is investigating a sexual battery incident that took place Wednesday afternoon at a CVS store in the city. 

At approximately 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, police were called to the CVS Pharmacy at 3130 Duke St. for a man who police say assaulted a woman while they were both inside the pharmacy.

The suspect allegedly reached underneath the skirt of the adult female and attempted to remove her underwear. Officers responded to the scene and immediately apprehended the suspect. 

Abayneh Yemer, 25, of Alexandria was charged with Sexual Battery and Attempted Object Sexual Penetration. He was held without bond.
