Police Reports: Cell Phone and Vehicle Thefts in the Old Town Area

The Alexandria Police Department reported the following crimes in the Old Town area.

Note: The addresses listed below indicate blocks and not specific addresses of incidents. Where an arrest is mentioned, it does not necessarily indicate a conviction.

Aug. 10

3:14 a.m. — A suspect was arrested for being drunk in public in the 700 block of King Street.

12:30 a.m. — An arrest was made for larceny from a vehicle in the 600 block of S. Patrick Street.

7:53 p.m. — An arrest was made for assault at the corner of Duke and S. Henry streets.

5:23 p.m. — A vehicle was reported stolen at the corner of King and Fairfax streets.

4:53 p.m. — An arrest was made for theft in the 1700 block of Duke Street.

3:14 p.m. — An assault was reported in the 500 block of King Street.

2:34 p.m. — A theft from a vehicle was reported in the 400 block of Cameron Street.

2:30 a.m. — A suspect was arrested for driving under the influence in the 1300 block of King Street. 

1:48 a.m. — A theft was reported in the 700 block of King Street.

Aug. 8

11:50 p.m. — An arrest was made for trespassing in the 300 block of Tancil Court.

10:20 p.m. — A suspect was arrested for possession of an open container of alcohol in the 600 block of N. Fairfax Street.

2:48 p.m. — A tampering with an automobile offense was reported in the 700 block of N. West Street.

1:25 p.m. — A theft from a vehicle was reported in the 700 block of N. Washington Street.

11:41 .m. — Coins were reported stolen from a vehicle parked in the 700 block of S. Patrick Street.

11:13 a.m. — A bag of house keys were reported stolen from a car parked at a residence in the 700 block of Massey Lane. The passenger door window on the vehicle was smashed. 

Aug. 7

11:42 p.m. — A traffic stop in the 1200 block of N. Royal Street resulted in an arrest for driving under the influence.

8:03 p.m. — A theft was reported in the 100 block of Jefferson Street.

Aug. 6

8:46 p.m. — A victim’s cell phone was reported stolen while she was dining at a restaurant on Cameron Street.

1:27 p.m. — The registration was reported stolen from an unlocked vehicle parked in the 900 block of Prince Street.

3:52 a.m. — A suspect was arrested for possession of marijuana in the 1300 block of Wythe Street.

3:45 a.m. — A subject was arrested for stealing a relative’s credit card and charging numerous items without permission. The subject was also charged with a narcotics offense. 

Aug. 5

7:22 p.m. — Jewelry and electronic items were reported stolen from an apartment in the 1400 block of E. Abingdon Drive. The suspect or suspects entered the apartment by cutting a screen on a window.

7:13 p.m. — A sexual assault was reported in the 900 block of First Street. To protect the victim’s privacy, the Alexandria police have not made a narrative of this case available.

4:32 p.m. —A motor scooter was reported stolen from the 1300 block of King Street.

12:05 p.m. — The rear license plate was reported stolen from a vehicle parked in the 600 block of First Street.

11:12 a.m. —Two locked bicycles were reported stolen in the 1200 block of First Street.

1:10 a.m. — A traffic stop at the corner of Gibbon and Patrick streets resulted in an arrest for driving under the influence.

Aug. 4

6:51 p.m. — An assault was reported in the 1000 block of N. Henry Street.

4:47 p.m. — A wallet was reported stolen after it was left unattended on the counter of a store in the 1500 block of King Street.

3:10 p.m. — A suspect was arrested for possession of marijuana in the 300 block of N. Royal Street.

4:10 a.m. — An arrest was made for drunkenness and assault in the 100 block of King Street.

Aug. 3

8:13 a.m. — A cell phone was reported stolen from a table at a restaurant in the 700 block of King Street.
