Police Reports: Robbery Suspect Uses Mace, Bicycle Thefts in Old Town

The Alexandria Police Department reported the following crimes in Old Town.

Note: The addresses listed below indicate blocks and not specific addresses of incidents.

July 27

5:39 a.m. — An arrest was made for a narcotics offense in the 500 block of Duke Street.

July 26

9:42 p.m. — A suspect was arrested for disorderly conduct at the corner of N. Patrick and Pendleton streets.

2:20 p.m. — A theft from a vehicle was reported in the 200 block of S. Lee Street.

July 25

7:20 p.m. — A suspect was arrested for a liquor law violation in the 300 block of Oronoco Street.

5:32 p.m. — An assault was reported in the 600 block of S. Pitt Street.

2:02 p.m. — A victim reported their car was keyed while it was parked in front of a hotel in the 900 block of N. Fairfax Street.

July 24

8:22 p.m. — A theft from a vehicle was reported at 8:22 p.m. in the 100 block of Quay Street.

4:02 p.m. — A locked bicycle was reported stolen from a bicycle rack in the garage of a building in the 600 block of N. Fayette Street. The cable lock had been cut.

1:15 p.m. — A black baton was reported stolen from a vehicle parked in the 1200 block of Michigan Court.

11 a.m. — An arrest was made for assault and trespassing in the 500 block of King Street.

9:28 a.m. — A victim reported someone punched the door lock on their vehicle and stole a GPS unit, sunglasses and a car jack while it was parked in a lot in the 900 block of Wolfe Street.

4:43 a.m. — Change was reported stolen from a vehicle parked in the 900 block of Wolfe Street. The driver’s-side door handle was damaged.

12:53 a.m. — A victim reported three juveniles entered her vehicle and stole a make-up bag while she was moving into a new residence in the 1600 block of Boyle Street.  

12:16 a.m. — A man was bumped by another vehicle while driving near the corner of Church and Washington streets when he was bumped by another vehicle. A suspect came out of the other vehicle and sprayed mace in the face of the victim. The suspect stole a computer and a bag full of money.

July 23

7:44 p.m. — An arrest was made for assault and disorderly conduct at the Safeway located in the 500 block of Royal Street.

12:15 p.m. — An assault was reported in the 1200 block of Madison Street.

11:32 a.m. — A bicycle was reported stolen from a rack in the garage of a building in the 800 block of S. Columbus Street.

2:21 a.m. — A traffic stop at the corner of Madison and N. Alfred streets resulted in an arrest for driving under the influence and a narcotics offense.

July 22

8:52 p.m. — A bicycle locked to a pole in the 1000 block of Queen Street was reported stolen.

10:41 a.m. — A theft was reported in the 100 block of S. Pitt Street.

10:05 a.m. — A tampering with an auto offense was reported in the 700 block of Chetworth Place.

July 21

3:20 a.m. — A vehicle was reported stolen from the 1200 block of N. Fayette Street.

July 20

9:53 p.m. — A suspect reportedly damaged the fence around a residence in the 100 block of Commerce Street after attempting to enter the home.

3:52 p.m. — An assault was reported in the 600 block of N. Lee Street.

2:05 p.m. — Four bicycles were reported stolen from the garage of a building in the 800 block of S. Columbus Street.
