Police Reports: Stolen Wedding Gifts, Stolen Cell Phone and Breaking and Entering on West

The Alexandria Police Department reported the following crimes in the Old Town area.

Note: The addresses listed below indicate blocks and not specific addresses of incidents. Where an arrest is mentioned, it does not tonecessarily indicate a conviction.

Aug. 29 – A theft from a vehicle was reported in the 400 block of Duke Street.

Aug. 28 – An arrest was made in an assault offense in the 100 block of N. Washington Street.

Aug. 28 – A theft was reported in the 800 block of King Street.

Aug. 27 – An assault was reported in the 200 block of S. Peyton Street.

Aug. 27 – A breaking and entering incident was reported in the 400 block of West Street. The resident was out of town and the suspects entered the residence through a broken kitchen window and stole cash. 

Aug. 26 – A woman reported that a thief entered her vehicle parked at King and North Lafayette streets and stole her purse. 

Aug. 26 – A women reported that someone entered her unlocked vehicle and stole coins from the console. 

Aug. 25 – Father of the bride reported that unknown suspects stole many gift envelopes containing money from a gift box at a wedding reception held in the 600 block of First Street.

Aug. 24 – A theft from a vehicle was reported in the 1000 block of King Street.

Aug. 24 – An attempt was made to steal a vehicle by punching the passenger door lock for entry and trying to punch the ignition, but was unsuccessful in the 1700 block of Jamieson Avenue.

Aug. 23 – A women’s cell phone was stolen from her bicycle basket when it was left unattended outside of a store in the 200 block of King Street. The event was captured in video.
