Prosecutor: Charles Severance Served with Extradition Warrant

Severance is being investigated in three high-profile slayings in Alexandria. His next hearing is set for Monday morning in West Virginia.

A man who is wanted for questioning in three high-profile homicides in Alexandria has been served with an extradition warrant signed by Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe.

Alexandria police are investigating Severance in the February slaying of music teacher Ruthanne Lodato, the November shooting of regional transportation planner Ronald Kirby and the 2003 killing of real estate agent Nancy Dunning. 

Scott R. Smith, prosecuting  attorney  for  Ohio County, W.Va.,  announced that Charles Stanard Severance of Ashburn, was  served with a Governor’s Warrant on Wednesday by the Ohio County Sheriff’s Department. 

The Governor’s Warrant is based on the felony charge of "Felon in Possession of a Firearm" from Loudoun County.

The next hearing scheduled for Severance is a status hearing on Monday at 10 a.m. in the Circuit Court of Ohio County. Severance remains incarcerated at the Northern Regional Jail and Detention Facility in Moundsville, W.Va. His bond was set at $100,000.

He is fighting extradition to Virginia.
