Saturday is Drug-Take Back Day Nationwide, in Alexandria
Drop off your expired, used or unwanted prescription drugs in Alexandria.
Several Alexandria locations will serve as free prescription drug disposal sites Saturday during National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day.
The event runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at many locations in Northern Virginia, including the Alexandria Police Department at 3600 Wheeler Ave.

The event is meant to help residents dispose of potentially dangerous expired, unused or unwanted prescription drugs, according to the DEA.

Since 2010, law enforcement officials and the DEA have taken in more than 2 million pounds of expired prescription drugs, according to a press release from the administration.
