City Tree Sale on Saturday at Ben Brenman Park

Pre-orders for trees that grow well in our area are being accepted through Apr. 27

The City of Alexandria is holding a tree sale on Saturday with tree stewards and master gardeners on hand to field any questions about selection, planting and care.

The sale is from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Ben Brenman Park, 4800 Park Dr. as part of Alexandria's Earth Day festivities.

The goal of the sale is to promote the preservation of Alexandria’s tree canopy by encouraging the planting of trees on private property throughout the city.

The city’s tree supplier, Denison Landscaping and Nursery of Ft. Washington, Md., will provide the same varieties of trees the city plants in five- to seven-gallon containers. Trees will be sold at below retail market prices.
