Environmental Activists Hold Rally Outside Energy Summit
The Sierra Club and Chesapeake Climate Action Network organized a rally outside of the Hilton Mark Center on Tuesday.
Business owners and Virginia residents on Tuesday participated in a rally and press conference organized by the Sierra Club and Chesapeake Climate Action Network calling for Gov. Bob McDonnell to support clean energy development and stronger Environmental Protection Agency safeguards for Virginia.
The rally was outside of the Hilton Mark Center in Alexandria where McDonnell was the opening speaker for an energy summit.
Those attending the rally expressed concern that the agenda of the Southern States Energy Board Summit did not address clean energy but focused on oil and gas development as well as nuclear energy.
