The City of Alexandria has a list of polling places on its website. You can also look up your polling place by address.

Voters who usually place their ballots at Chinquapin Recreation Center will place their ballots instead at First Baptist Church for this year's primary and general election because of scheduled renovations at the rec center.

Absentee voting for the primary ended Saturday.

What You’ll Need

Make sure you bring an acceptable form of identification to the polls. The following options will get you through the door:

  • Virginia voter registration card
  • Valid Virginia driver's license
  • Military ID
  • Any Federal, Virginia state or local government-issued ID
  • Employer issued photo ID card
  • Concealed handgun permit
  • Valid student ID issued by any institution of higher education located in the Commonwealth of Virginia
  • Current utility bill, bank statement, government check or paycheck indicating the name and address of the voter
  • Social Security card (the social security card does not satisfy special federal ID requirements)

A voter who does not bring an acceptable ID to the polls will be offered a provisional ballot.
