Virginia Education Association Endorses Krupicka

Group says Krupicka will act in the best interest of children and the association's members.

Rob Krupicka got the nod from the Virginia Education Association on Monday in his bid to compete for a delegate seat representing the state’s 45th District in the House of Delegates.

“Because public education is so vital to Virginia’s well-being, the VEA Fund for Children and Public Education recommends candidates for office we believe will act in the best interest of children and our members in the public schools who serve them,” said VEA President Meg Gruber. “Mr. Krupicka clearly passes our test.”

“Rob Krupicka has been a friend and advocate for the students, teachers and staff of the Alexandria City Public Schools,” said Gina Miller, president of the Education Association of Alexandria and chair of the Alexandria PAC for Education. “We are happy that the VEA Fund shares our view of Mr. Krupicka.”

Krupicka is currently an Alexandria city councilman and also serves on the state Board of Education. He ran for state senate last year but . The seat for state delegate opened up this year when Del. . Ebbin for the state delegate position.

Recommendations made by the VEA Fund for candidates running for seats in the Virginia House or Senate are made following the recommendation of a local political action committee. The process includes the completion of a questionnaire and interviews. The VEA Fund identifies itself as "party-blind and issue-driven."
