Waterfront Commission Holds Annual Waterfront Walk

Annual walk aids commission members in assessing operational conditions and issues along the waterfront.

The Alexandria Waterfront Commission will hold its annual Waterfront Walk on Saturday, June 9 at 10 a.m.

The walk will begin in Windmill Hill Park, 501 S. Union St., and continue north along the waterfront to . This annual event enables committee members to assess operational conditions and issues along the waterfront. 

The 21-member commission advises City Council and staff on issues related to Alexandria's riverside, and advice on implementation of the Waterfront Small Area Plan.

The commission was established by City Council on April 14 and replaces the Waterfront Committee, which was founded in 1989. The commission meets the third Tuesday of each month at 7:30 a.m. in Room 2000.
