---

Now that it's actually beginning to feel like winter, where's the best spot in town to grab a hot cup of coffee? Patch wants you to pick your favorite independent coffee shop in Alexandria, focusing on the Old Town, Del Ray and Potomac Greens communities. You have until Friday at 9 a.m. to vote.

Which is your favorite?

Vote for your independent coffee shop in the poll below and don't forget to click on the links above and rate the shops on their Patch directory listing. You can even leave a review. Tell us why it's your favorite independent coffee shop: Outstanding coffee, quick lines, friendly service, nice ambiance, useful use of social media, easy parking? Let other readers know the inside scoop.

What will the winner get? Bragging rights! They'll be able to tell everyone they were voted a "Best of Alexandria" by Patch readers.

And in the event of a tie in our survey, we will break the tie by counting the positive comments written both below and on the store's listing on Patch. So please let us know why you think your choice is the best.

Because this poll is not scientific, the poll is not the sole consideration in choosing a winner. The winner will be determined by the Patch editor, based on poll results and your reviews on Patch Places. Please vote only once per survey, per Patch.

RIGHT?!?!!?!?!? while misha's and st. elmo's do a great job with latte's, their straight up coffee is actually quite abysmal. Bittersweet serves M.E. Swings, which is the most uncannily consistent coffee I have ever had (AND it's local!!) - no matter where you get it/who brews it, it ALWAYS tastes perfect. smooth and never a hint of bitterness. it's like magic in a cup.
