Why on earth would Wells not be participating in his one chance to speak to a majority of voters all at the same time? Talk about an enormous missed opportunity.

I wish I could be there also. I do believe that we need school board members that have a sense of balance and know when other events are more important than a debate, no matter the size of the audience. Since, prior to deciding to run for school board and well before this debate was scheduled, I committed to seeing an old Army buddy who is getting ready to go to Afghanistan in January for a year. My wife and I ordered the tickets back when they were relatively cheap and not changeable. I will admit it is also a vacation, my friend is stationed in Hawaii. So there is the fact that my wife and I are getting to see some of Hawaii for the cost of airfare. Additionally, I will be participating in the Special Education Advisory Council debate, right now scheduled for October 29. Thank you, Heath
