Virginia High School Football Playoffs: Titans Fall to Stallions

South County tops T.C. Williams 51-27 in the Titans' first playoff game in 22 years.

The T.C. Williams High School football team fell to South County 51-27 Friday night in a first-round game of the Group 6A North playoffs in Lorton, according to The Washington Post.

It was the Titans’ first postseason game in 22 years.

Quarterback Darius Holland helped push the Titans (7-4) out to a 21-14 lead in the second quarter before the Stallions (9-2) came roaring back. The junior signal-caller threw for two touchdowns, including a 77-yard connection with Tyrice Henry, and ran for another in the first half.

The Titans entered the second half trailing just 29-21 but were unable to slow the Stallions, who scored three touchdowns in the third quarter.

T.C. Williams managed just one score the remainder of the game—a 77-yard run from Holland in the third.

South County recorded 26 first downs on the evening compared to just eight for T.C. Williams.

In October, Dennis Randolph’s squad lost to South County 44-37 at Parker-Gray Stadium.

Friday’s game was a No. 8-No. 9 seed matchup in Group A. The Titans had the lower seed.
