Artful Gifts at The Art League Gallery

Check out the image gallery above for a preview of this month's exhibits — “Small Works,” “Large Works,” and “Cold River” — which are on view through Monday, December 3. “Small Works” is a juried group exhibit of small-format artwork with lots of affordable pieces by painters, printmakers, sculptors, and more.

“Cold River” is photographer Andrew Zimmermann's solo exhibit of large-format black-and-white photographs of the frozen Colorado landscape. Printed from 8″ x 10″ negatives by direct contact, his images bring out in rich detail the sharp contrasts in the winter environment. Zimmermann has been working with large-format photography since 1998 and was awarded a fellowship from the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts in 2011.

The Art League Gallery, on the first floor of the Torpedo Factory Art Center at 105 N. Union Street, is a membership gallery with monthly juried group exhibits and solo artist exhibits.
