Animal Shelter Reaches Out to 'Empty Nesters'
Animal Welfare League of Alexandria offering adoption discounts to parents with children enrolled in school.
The Animal Welfare League of Alexandria is once again seeking to drum up interest from potential pet owners through animal adoption promotions.
For the week of Aug. 22 through Aug. 28, the shelter is offering a 50 percent discount on fees for all adult animals to parents who have children enrolled in school.
Adoption fees during its "Fill Your Empty Nest" promotion will be waived for all small animals, excluding birds.
