Frank Fannon is hosting his fifth Annual “Alexandrians Have a Heart” Valentine’s Weekend Clothing and Canned Food Drive Saturday to help Alexandrians in need throughout the community.

The benefit, scheduled Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., will be held in the parking lot located at 225 S. Henry St. in Old Town, behind the old SunTrust Mortgage building.

Clothing and food donations will help support Alexandria’s local charities. Donations will go to Christ House, Carpenter’s Shelter and ALIVE Food Bank.

“I hope my fellow citizens of Alexandria will join me in contributing serviceable clothing and canned food for our city’s less fortunate,” said Fannon, in a news release.  “During these challenging economic times, it is important that we remember those members of our community who are in need of assistance,” Fannon added.

Frank Fannon is a fifth generation Alexandrian who has lived and worked in the community his whole life. Fannon served on the Alexandria City Council from 2009 to 2012.
