Rebuilding Together Alexandria Holds Annual Rock the Ante Event

Fundraiser helps group with projects that serve low-income homeowners.

Rebuilding Together Alexandria—which helps low-income, disabled and elderly homeowners repair and maintain their homes—will hold its annual fall fundraiser Saturday.

The Rock the Ante Casino Night will be held at the Fowler House at Christ Church on 111 N. Columbus St. The event starts at 6 p.m.

Tickets cost $90.

Organizers hope to raise $50,000 to help Rebuilding Together and its volunteers cover the cost of such repairs as insulating homes, installing wheelchair ramps, replacing major appliances and more. Since 1986, the group has helped with more than 1,300 projects in the city.

Rebuilding Together volunteers do home repairs throughout the year but the bulk of its volunteer projects occur on National Rebuilding Day in April when 1,000 volunteers gather to help.
