Alexandria Food and Wine Festival Coming Saturday to Carlyle District

A portion of the festival proceeds will benefit Volunteer Alexandria.

The third annual Alexandria's Food & Wine Festival will be held Saturday, June 21 in John Carlyle Park, 300 John Carlyle St.

The event, which runs from noon to 5 p.m., will include live entertainment, a children’s arts and crafts corner and, of course, food and wine tasting from a variety of Alexandria restaurants and Virginia wineries.

The event is free, but tickets must be purchased to sample food and beverages.

For the food, eight taste tickets are available for $20. Tickets for the wine garden are $20. 

Participating restaurants include: Delia's, La Tasca, Walker's Grille, Alexandria Cupcake, San Antonio Bar and Grill, Rita's Ice, Trademark, Sweet Fire Donna's, Whole Foods Market, Rustico, Rice & Spice, Sinbad, with potentially more to be added.

The restaurants will compete for best appetizer, best main course and best dessert prizes awarded by a panel of judges.

The visiting wineries include: Democracy Vineyard, Lake Anna Winery, Hill Top Berry Farm and Winery, Horton Vineyards, The Williamsburg Winery, Mattaponi Winery, North Mountain Vineyard and Winery and Unicorn Winery. 

Participating food vendors include Olio Tasting Room, JD Gourmet, Scratch DC and Kerry Gold Butters & Cheese from Ireland, with potentially more to be added.

This year’s charity of choice is Volunteer Alexandria. A portion of the proceeds from the event will be donated to the organization.
