Holiday Market at Del Ray Artisans — The 18th annual Holiday Market at Del Ray Artisans (2704 Mount Vernon Ave.) offers handmade work from local artists, handmade ornaments and Bake Sale items to benefit Animal Welfare League of Alexandria. The market will be open from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and noon to 4 p.m. Sunday.
Fire Station Santa — Santa Claus will be available for photos next to the old steamer at Alexandria Fire Station 201 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 21. The station is located at 317 Prince St. in Old Town.

Bluegrass Brunch — Big Hillbilly Bluegrass will be performing throughout brunch service from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 22 at FireFlies Restaurant in Del Ray (1501 Mount Vernon Ave.).
"A Broadway Christmas Carol" — Alexandria’s MetroStage (1201 N. Royal St.) will host five performances of this holiday staple this weekend. The show crosses the Dickens classic with parodies of 33 Broadway show tunes. Tickets are $50 and available through the MetroStage website or by calling 703-548-9044.

Debi Smith CD Release — Smith, a solo artist and a member of musical comedy group The Four Bitchin’ Babes and The Smith Sisters, will celebrate the release of her "Hits and Holidays" album with a 7:30 p.m. show Sunday, Dec. 22 at The Birchmere (3701 Mount Vernon Ave.). Tickets are $25 and they're available through the Birchmere website.
