Old Town Theater steps back in time to the days of neighborhood movie houses – in fact the "moving pictures" theater built on King Street in 1914 was the first permanent theater in Alexandria.

Now renovated with two screens, the theater still maintains its vintage ambiance while playing first run films from all the major studios. The theater has a one-drink minimum in addition to the ticket price, but the great thing about that is the rare treat of having beer and wine at a movie theater! There is a menu of sandwiches, dogs, salads and desserts in addition to the typical movie house fare of popcorn, nachos and soda, along with more retro offerings such as Slush-O's and pretzel rolls.

The friendly and helpful staff, additional menu offerings and historical surroundings all enhance the cinema viewing experience at Alexandria's vintage Old Town Theater.

There is a nearby parking garage on Alfred Street for which the theater offers a discount. Otherwise there is street parking with free hourly parking available a few blocks off King Street, but be sure to read the signs for time limits. Parking details on the website.
