@concernedparent. I never wrote that kids need to rely on electronics for social interaction. IRead More don't know whgere you got that from. We are saying the same thing in our posts. But kids will need to know how to construct a clear and concise e-mail, know how to send an effective text and keep an online connection with important clients and customers....that's how businesses are now. They also need to know how to properly entertain them, engage them and wine and dine them in person as well. AI said before...you need to balance it all and know how to control electronics and make them work for you and not the other way around.

This was a funny, simple, and interesting cartoon. That Lexi Hart is a swell cartoonist.
After another baby dies after being left in a hot car, a mother recounts a mistake that might have cost her daughter's life.

Well, then you would have to weigh the risk of being killed in a car accident against being left inRead More a hot car. Since automobile accidents are the number one cause of death for children, I don't think this would be wise. There are very simple devices that activate when the weight of a child enters the car seat. If the key fob then goes away from the car without the child being removed it sounds an alarm. Do you know why this item almost passed for marketing but not quite? Because too many people think that they would never forget their child in a car and so don't think it's cost efficient. I would think that saving the life of one precious child would justify the cost, but what do I know? Clearly most people here would rather point the finger of shame then save a babies life.

Do you NOT understand that there will always be a select group of people that will use every tragicRead More event and twist and bend it for their own evil purposes. Tragic as it is...people forget their children in a hot car. And some CHOOSE to leave their child in a hot car. Each circumstance must be investigated individually.

...I just have one question...WHY were the "older" kids "watching" a six monthRead More old baby?
Popular free treat will cool you off, but there's more free stuff available for this year's celebration.

Boy are the Middle eastern/ Asian owned 7-11s going to hate this week. To me over the past decade itRead More seems like only the European, white or black owned 7-11s greet you with a smile when there are freebies (customer appreciation days). Middle easterner's/ and Asian's hate the freebies... pay attention and watch them this week when you stop in for your freebies.

Funny how I, in spite of my obviously extreme whiteness, have never experienced this problem. MaybeRead More there's something you're doing subconsciously when you walk in? Anyone walking in with a look of apprehension and nervousness, "watching them," is of course going to meet with a different welcome than someone who walks in with a friendly smile.

I personally am happy he's looking into this. One of these days, you are going to see that yourRead More "emotional state" is up for sale. If we don't get a handle on the NSA, Facebook, companies that collect our data and sell it, we are going to one day be denied insurance based on our emotional state and may have our children taken from us. You may think that's a good thing, until you discover that software can get it "wrong" and that it's just one more injustice that can happen. We also need to call out companies that make people "sign" something and later claim they gave it to you. The terms of condition are cloudier than a day in North Carolina during hurricane season. I have had more than one thing appear on my credit card that I didn't believe I "agreed" to buy.

Sally Linderman, I don't have a side. I'm an independent thinker and voter and your claims don'tRead More meet the facts. Anyway, any negative comments directed at me will be replied after 835. Thanx. PS. This massive unemployment that you refer to is due to yours truly, bush and his unnecessary wars.

To the editor: It looks some of the earlier comments have been dropped. At the top it shows 8Read More comments, and there are only five that are available. What's going on?

These people are a joke.... they approve aspartame (a real poison) and now are concerned aboutRead More sugar intake...... Seriously is a demented and twisted world we live in.
Shelli B July 11, 2014 at 01:49 pm
People don't realize how dangerous sugar really is. We all know it's important to brush our teethRead More after eating sweets but we don't make the connection that that same corrosiveness effects ALL of our tissues. Imagine tooth decay in our arteries, or attacking the cartilage that protects the ends of our bones, our joints. These images and other examples of sugar in our bodies in action are never shown because there is a HUGE, Billion dollar industry that doesn't want us to realize how bad, bad, bad sugar is. Add to that the fact that sugar is an addictive substance. These facts have been known for many years but the sugar lobby is just as powerful and destructive as the substance they push.

I know I have been addicted since childhood - I really have had to use tremendous will power to stayRead More away from it as much as possible.
Motorists receiving email noting unpaid tolls, but it's a hoax. Provided.
Patrick J July 10, 2014 at 07:30 am
Anybody can put those names in the from field. Check the headers of the email. That's a better wayRead More to verify. Bottom line, people should never respond to emails claiming non-payment. Always call to verify for sure.

Need motivation to quit? Park in front of a liquor store around 5:15PM on a weekday. Notice whoRead More walks in and out. Depressed, unhealthy, baggy eyed, alcoholics. Losers. You want to be like them? They don't drink because they're depressed. They're depressed because they drink.

The thing I find interesting is women are dead set against people that smoke but the major majorityRead More of them drink regularly. I suppose they justify it because booze won't give them lung cancer. So who cares about liver cancer, hardening of the arteries, heart disease, kidney failure, abdominal and bowel cancer and a permanent lose of thousands of brain cells with each drink. I have yet to see one report of a driver under the influence of nicotine killing anyone while driving. So heres lookin at ya drink up and put that cigarette out before ya kill somebody with second hand smoke and just use a car.

THAT'S it!! I'm not hanging around, with any more dead people!
