Alexandria Police Dept. Will you please step up enforcement of jaywalking laws within about 3 blocks of the King Street Metro station? It seems pedestrians, especially tourists, believe they can flaunt the pedestrian signals, stand with their toes overhanging the street pavement, and generally attempt to second-guess drivers--all to the detriment of the driving public in these very crowded intersections, as well as the safety of the pedestrians.
