New Boutique Zoubeck Opens on Black Friday

Owner of Pretty People opens boutique described as "French chic."

Pretty People owner and vintage fashion collector Annie Lee is opening a new Old Town venue, Zoubeck. The boutique, which Lee describes as “French chic,” is located at 1213 King St. and will carry a mix of contemporary and vintage clothing and accessories.  Lee named the store after her grandfather, Robert Zoubeck. “I have always loved French clothing and cuisine, so I decided to channel my love for the culture with this new boutique,” Lee said. “My French upbringing was the inspiration for this concept and excited to launch it right around the corner from Pretty People.” Zoubeck’s size offerings will range from size 2-10 in modern and vintage apparel. Vintage Shoppers Have Choices in Alexandria

Local vintage and consignment stores in both Del Ray and Old Town offer choices to the stylish, but thrifty shopper.

In Alexandria, old school is still cool when it comes to clothing. Two vintage clothing stores are thriving thanks to a young clientele with a keen eye for older fashions. Labels Exchange has found a new home on Mt. Vernon Avenue. Formerly located further down the street, the clothing shop recently moved to its current location at 2417 Mt. Vernon Avenue, connecting to Blueberry Art Gallery and next to the Caboose Café. According to buyer Monique Drummond, “vintage is any garment from an era from or earlier than 1970.” The store gets its clothing through consignment and other vintage stores.
