TD Bank on S. Washington Street is the second Alexandria bank robbed in as many days.
Alexandria police are investigating a Wednesday afternoon bank robbery in Old Town, the second bank robbery in Alexandria in as many days. At around 4:30 p.m., a man entered the TD Bank located at 119 S. Washington St. and handed the teller a note saying he had a weapon and demanded money, according to a press release from the Alexandria Police Department. The teller handed over an undisclosed amount of cash and the suspect fled the bank, police said. There were no injuries. Police offered no description of the suspect. Alexandria police are investigating a bank robbery that occurred at the Wells Fargo Bank in Old Town Alexandria. Around 9:23 a.m. Saturday, a man wearing a mask entered the bank, which is located at 330 N. Washington St. He displayed a knife and demanded money, according to police. The teller relinquished an undisclosed amount of money and the suspect fled the bank. No one was injured. The suspect is described as a male of unknown race, approximately 5 feet, 8 inches to 5 feet, 9 inches tall with a medium build. Police seek help identifying suspect who attempted to rob the Bank of America.
The Alexandria Police Department is investigating an attempted bank robbery that occurred at the Bank of America branch located at 600 N. Washington St. A woman entered the bank around 12:45 p.m. Wednesday and gave the teller a note demanding money. The teller backed away from the window and the suspect fled the bank. The suspect was last seen on foot heading eastbound on Pendleton Street. No one was injured in the incident. Police seeking suspects in separate incidents.
The Alexandria Police Department is investigating an attempted bank robbery that occurred Friday at the BB&T located a 233 S. Van Dorn St. and a bank robbery that occurred Saturday morning at the BB&T located at 300 S. Washington St. At around 1:17 p.m. Friday, two suspects entered the lobby of the BB&T on S. Van Dorn Street. One of the suspects approached a teller and demanded cash. When the teller went to retrieve the cash, both suspects fled. Robber fled on foot after demanding and taking money at S. Washington St. bank.
Alexandria Police are investigating a bank robbery at the United Bank in Old Town Alexandria. Around 9 a.m. on Tuesday, a man entered the bank at 301 S. Washington St., displayed a handgun and demanded money. The teller relinquished an undisclosed amount of cash and the suspect fled toward S. Washington Street on foot. No one was injured, according to police. The suspect is described as a light-skinned black male, 25 to 30 years old and approximately 5’9”.
