The Christmas Attic Brings 'Advent Art' to Old Town

Community members including schools and churches are creating artworks for display as part of the Holiday Advent Calendar Art Celebration.

Old Town staple The Christmas Attic has teamed up with area schools, businesses and community groups to produce its second annual Holiday Advent Calendar Art Celebration. From Dec. 1 through Dec. 24 at sundown each day, the store at 125 S. Union St. will reveal advent art featuring creations from the community. All art is either placed in windows or on the brick building facing Union Street. Each Saturday in December at sundown, the store will host entertainment, activities and a visit from Santa. At the event’s close near the end of December, the art will be auctioned at a post-event celebration. Proceeds from the auction, which does not yet have a firm date, will go to Make-A-Wish Mid-Atlantic. The nonprofit grants the wishes of children…

Christmas in July Celebration Returns to Old Town

More than 15 businesses and organizations on Union Street host musical entertainment, raffle drawings, kids' activities, fashion trunk shows and more.

Save the date—July 21, for the Third Annual Christmas in July Celebration, which will host Santa and Mrs. Claus and much more on Union Street this summer. The event is presented by The Christmas Attic and the businesses of Union Street. Approximately 15 retailers and community organizations will host a variety of indoor and outdoor activities ranging from pictures with summer Santa and Mrs. Claus, fashion trunk shows, food and wine tastings, cookie decorating, story time for tots, paint your own snowman, ornament making, ice cream social and carnival fun.
