City Finds Former General Services Deputy Had Proper Conduct
Internal audit finds former Deputy Director of General Services Timothy Wanamaker did not act inappropriately when he was a city employee.
City of Alexandria has found no improper conduct by its former deputy director of General Services who left his job with the city after pleading guilty to federal charges relating to his prior employment with the City of Buffalo. After Timothy Wanamaker pled guilty in November, Alexandria conducted an internal audit to review Wanamaker’s city-related financial and other transactions. “We found no evidence that the deputy director circumvented established city procedures with regard to collection and deposit of city monies, city payments, personnel travel, use of city purchase card and fuel card, time and attendance and project management,” according to a Dec. 20 memo from City Manager Rashad Young.
