United Community Ministries Receives Grant
The Future Fund of the Community Foundation for Northern Virginia is donating a total of $58,000 to three Virginia nonprofits.
The Future Fund of the Community Foundation for Northern Virginia announced new grant recipients including Alexandria’s United Community Ministries. The McLean-based fund is the foundation’s giving circle for more than 100 young professionals. It gave a total of $58,000 in grants and $18,000 to UCM. The UCM grant will support the Journeys Program, which provides transitional housing for families displaced by domestic violence, including a full complement of supportive services to prepare participants for a future of independence and stability.
