Finding Happiness in the Dirt

Get a little dirty this weekend. It's good for you.

Did you know that dirt could make you a happier and smarter person?  I’m not talking about discovering the joy of gardening or increasing your appreciation of the outdoors—although I highly recommend both. Back in 2007, a study at the University of Bristol showed that a bacterium commonly found in soil triggered the production of the brain chemical serotonin, which promotes feelings of well-being, improves cognitive function and decreases anxiety.
