Dos Amigos to Open Tuesday

Tex-Mex restaurant is located near Braddock Metro in space previously occupied by Grass Roots Station.

Dos Amigos Bar and Grill, a new Tex-Mex restaurant located at 535 E. Braddock Rd., is opening Tuesday. The restaurant will be open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Tuesday. A menu is posted on the restaurant’s website, featuring entrees between $9.95 and $18.95. Dos Amigos also has a Facebook page and Twitter account.  In a message on the Dos Amigos website, Salvadoran owners Ricardo Arias and Hector Lobo write that the restaurant “will offer a casual atmosphere where you can enjoy a meal with your family or grab a margarita with friends after work. I also won't be spending $15 on a beer and a burrito. They need to remember that they're the third restaurant in that spot in three years. It was high prices that kept the crowds away from Grass Roots Station. You'd think the new owners would've done a simple market analysis and uncovered this but I hear they're aren't experienced business men. It's disappointing. Dos Amigos Coming to Braddock Road

Tex-Mex restaurant preparing to open in former Grass Roots Station space.

Dos Amigos restaurant is moving into the former Grass Roots Station storefront at 535 E. Braddock Rd., near Braddock Road Metro station. The restaurant will offer Tex-Mex cuisine with full wait staff and carryout orders, according to its permit application. In May, Dos Amigos received approval from the city’s Planning Department to extend the hours of service from what was allowed at Grass Roots Station. The restaurant will open at 6 a.m. seven days a week and close at 11 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays and 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday. Will you please have a restroom for the customers INSIDE the restaurant? This is not a gas station and a restroom is basic necessity. Not having restrooms was a big down fall for the other two restaurants.   more ›
