New Year's Eve Dining in Alexandria

Looking for a place to eat on New Year's Eve? Here are a few suggestions of restaurants that are open for ringing in 2013.

Alexandria has a host of options for diners looking to celebrate out on the town. Grab a bite during the First Night Alexandria activities or ring in the new year right at a restaurant. James Beard Foundation Recognizes Well-Known Alexandria Eateries

The foundation, which focuses on all things culinary, includes Restaurant Eve, PX and the Neighborhood Restaurant Group, in its list of semifinalists for a prestigious award.

Foodies, rejoice. Alexandria foodies, rejoice even more. The James Beard Foundation has named Restaurant and Chef Award semifinalists, which include some well-known Old Town eateries of distinction. PX is in the running for “Outstanding Bar Program.” Restaurant Eve is up for “Outstanding Service,” “Outstanding Wine Program” and “Best Chef in the Mid-Atlantic” for Cathal Armstrong. Greg Engert of the Neighborhood Restaurant Group (NRG) has made the first cut for “Outstanding Wine and Spirits Professional.” Alexandria-based NRG owns restaurants such as Vermilion, Columbia Firehouse, Evening Star Cafe and Birch & Barley. NRG Pastry Chef Tiffany MacIsaac was listed by the foundation as "Best Pastry Chef" for Birch & Barley in Washington, D.C. …
