April 8 – Thieves entered a woman’s unlocked car parked at the corner of Gibbon and Lee streets and stole a watch. March 29 – A theft was reported in the 700 block of King Street. There are no additional details available. March 29 – A vehicle was stolen from the 800 block of Madison Street. Bank on South Washington Street was robbed Sunday afternoon.
TD Bank in Old Town Alexandria was robbed Sunday and Alexandria police have asked the public to offer any information that could help solve the case. A man entered TD Bank at 119 S. Washington St. around 3:48 p.m., handed the teller a note implying a weapon and demanded money. The teller relinquished an undisclosed amount of cash and the suspect fled the bank. No one was injured, according to a police statement. The suspect is described as a black male with a beard and approximately 6-foot-1 with a medium build. He was wearing a dark, hooded jacket, blue jeans and light-colored shoes. Two male suspects allegedly involved with Oct. 30 robbery of Kenmore Avenue 7-Eleven.
The Alexandria Police Department is asking for the public’s help in identifying suspects they believe were involved in the robbery last month of a 7-Eleven located at 4610 Kenmore Ave. At 3:17 a.m. Oct. 30, two suspects entered the business, police said. One of them jumped over the counter and grabbed the store’s clerk. The suspect displayed a handgun and held the clerk while the other suspect went for the cash register. The suspects then pushed the clerk to the ground and ran out of the store. The clerk was not seriously injured, according to the police. Police now say they've made an arrest.. Wednesday night, they searched a residence in the 800 block of Montgomery Street (Old Town Commons) and later arrested someone associated with that address, though it's not clear whether he is actually living at that address. more ›
