Old Town Tavern Hosts Laboy Fundraiser

Virtue Feed & Grain and the Alexandria Police Association are hosting a silent auction and raffle this weekend.

Old Town Alexandria restaurant Virtue Feed & Grain and the Alexandria Police Association are hosting a fundraiser for Officer Peter Laboy this weekend. The Sunday fundraiser from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. includes a raffle and silent auction. A minimum $10 donation will be collected at the door. Food is included. Anyone wishing to donate items to the silent auction can email Laboyfundraiser@gmail.com. Officer Laboy was injured last week and is listed in critical condition in a Washington, DC hospital. Officer Laboy Honored with Moment of Silence

A moment of silence was held before the St. Patrick's Day Parade honoring Alexandria Officer Peter Laboy who was shot last week in Old Town Alexandria. His wife has set up a website with information about the situation.

Alexandria's Police Motorcycle Unit traditionally leads the annual St. Patrick's Day Parade and this year injured Officer Peter Laboy was honored with a moment of silence before the parade began. An Alexandria Yellow Cab driver allegedly shot Laboy Wednesday right outside of Old Town's Lyles-Crouch Traditional Academy. Several police officers at the parade told Old Town Alexandria Patch that Laboy remains in critical condition, but they are optimistic for his recovery. Laboy's wife, Suzanne, has set up a Caring Bridge website to make donations to the Caring Bridge organization and read her comments about her husband's progress. The website is titled "Superman." Donations Accepted for Wounded Alexandria Police Officer

The Alexandria Police Association is accepting donations on behalf of the family of the Alexandria police officer who was shot.

The Alexandria Police Department has set up a donation center through the Alexandria Police Association on behalf of the family of Officer Peter Laboy. The motorcycle officer was shot in the head Wednesday at the corner of S. St. Asaph and Wilkes streets, just outside the playground of Lyles-Crouch Traditional Academy. Anyone wishing to help the Laboy family can drop off a donation at the Alexandria Police Department, 3600 Wheeler Ave. or send a donation to: Alexandria Police Association c/o Peter Laboy P.O.
