Alexandria Restaurant Week Joins Presidential Inauguration Celebrations

Kicking off inaugural weekend and lasting for 10 days, more than 50 eateries are offering $35 three-course dinners or $35 dinners for two.

Alexandria is celebrating the upcoming presidential inauguration with a special edition of Restaurant Week. Kicking off inaugural weekend and lasting for 10 days, Jan. 18 -27, Alexandria’s presidential hotspots and more than 50 eateries are offering $35 three-course dinners or $35 dinners for two. According to the Alexandria Convention and Visitors Association, Alexandria’s presidential culinary connections include: Barack Obama and the First Family - Several of the Obamas' Alexandria eateries are participating in Restaurant Week.

Enjoy Tea for Adults or Kids at Morrison House

Every third Saturday, the Grille at Morrison House offers a Story Time Tea for kids.

Tea time at Old Town restaurant The Grille at Morrison House was a recent highlight on blog City Eats DC. Author Annalisa Burgos writes in the Family Style column about her experiences taking her almost two-year-old son to Halloween Spooky Tea last month, a spin off of Story Time Tea. The traditional tea for kids is every third Saturday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. when tea time for adults at the Morrison House “transforms into a kid-friendly event featuring crafts, read-aloud story time, dress-up and seasonal activities,” according to the author. There is a upcoming Christmas and Hanukkah tea on Dec. 15.
