Armstrong Returning to Helm Restaurant Eve Kitchen

Chef de Cuisine Jeremy Hoffman exiting to open his own restaurant in Annapolis.

Cathal Armstrong is returning to helm the kitchen at Restaurant Eve following Jeremy Hoffman’s decision to open a new restaurant in Annapolis, according to The Washington Post

Hoffman, the restaurant’s chef de cuisine, joined Armstrong’s team in 2010. At the time, Armstrong was preparing Virtue Feed and Grain on Union Street and looked to spend more time with his family.

Hoffman is planning to open a casual, American restaurant with an emphasis on preserved fruits and veggies on Main Street in Maryland’s capital city in January.

Back in Alexandria, Armstrong said it was nice to have more time with his kids but that he loves cooking.

“I’ll never relinquish creative control over Restaurant Eve again,” Armstrong told the Post. “It needs me.”

President and Mrs. Obama famously celebrated their wedding anniversary at Restaurant Eve in 2011.

Armstrong cut ties with Virtue Feed and Grain earlier this year. He told the Post he plans to spend six nights a week in Eve’s kitchen.

What that means for Armstrong’s taekwondo practice remains unclear.
